Creative thinking for sustainable change

For people and organisations with great ideas, beautiful missions, bold dreams and wonderful plans
to bring about sustainable change in organisation(s), people, process(es) and/or product(s).

To look deeper, think broader and make truly sustainable choices.

Not based on standard models or hyped-up results. But on creativity, connection, craftsmanship, and curiosity.

I will help build your story, your plan, your path: not for you, but in tandem with you.

Whether it concerns a grant, project or business plan, a process or an organisational change:
you achieve the most when your head, heart and hands work together.
As a creative realist, I will support you through diverse methods to evolve your organisation to where you want it to go.

With the following services, I will support you to get to your core business; to make your dream reality:

Plan development

From fragments to a solid, supported plan: at Nest of Kin, your idea becomes clear and concrete; you'll write a project or policy plan that's sound (in both content and tone); you'll learn to think from a perspective of sustainability, feasibility, and connection. Whether you're just starting out, already have a rough draft, or have been working on something for years – together we'll dream it into reality and explore the financial possibilities.

Project management

Good projects require structure and sensitivity, as well as overview, clear goals and a strong focus on people. Nest of Kin helps you with: - Setting up or executing projects - Structuring or streamlining work processes - Facilitating creative brainstorm sessions, roundtable discussions, or change management processes - (Interim) management or process management

(Team) training

Sometimes you know there's more to be gained from yourself or your team, but you just can't quite get there. Nest of Kin offers workshops and/or training, to non-profit organisations, that combine creativity and structure, always tailored to your context. For example: - Training in (project) plan development - Training in grant writing - Training in talent-focused collaboration - Training in budgeting and financing - Training in evaluation and reflection - Training in collaboration in (temporary) project teams I also support teams, committees, and/or boards who want to further strengthen themselves. Always experience-based. Always with room for both the individual and the organisational story.

Coaching within organisations

Sometimes change is needed, and can be driven from within. For example, because organisations get stuck in old patterns, have unspoken expectations, or are shifting their mission/vision. Nest of Kin can help teams, departments, managers or boards realign: with themselves, with each other, with their stakeholders, and with their desired impact. With tailor-made coaching, you can work on: - Strengthening team dynamics - Clarifying roles and responsibilities - Recalibrating mission(s) and values - Exploring blockages and untapped potential - Connecting head and heart in policy and practice Individual employees can also receive personal and/or leadership coaching.

For whom?

I enjoy working with:

  • Non-profit organisations in arts, culture, politics, healthcare and education

  • Idealists, change-makers and pioneers

  • Organisations with courage and a solution-oriented focus

  • Teams that want to learn, reflect and grow

  • Professionals who want to experiment and do (self)research

  • People who want to use creativity as an engine for change

Whether you've been around for a long time or are just starting out, I'd be happy to help you think about possible next steps.

How does it work?

Whether you want to set up a new project, develop a policy plan, train a team, or examine the entire organizational culture: all of these topics are welcome. Together we will explore what is needed, develop tools and find ways to bring ideas to life. Sharp analyses is being combined with an open mind, a healthy dose of creativity, and a pinch of system thinking.

Together we ask curious questions. We unravel processes where necessary. We build on what truly works; for you and for others (team/board/supervisory board/client/stakeholder). Together, we make it concrete, authentic, and relevant.

What can you expect?

You will receive guidance with gentleness and clarity; humour and depth; quiet reflection and movement;

My approach is:

  • Investigative: listening, asking questions and digging deeper

  • Co-creative: building together,
so that the entire process is yours

  • Experience-oriented: you only really learn and change when you have experienced what that change can do

  • Systemic: both the big picture
    when the little details matter

  • Playful and sharp: work is serious, but lightness
can sometimes make this just a little more bearable

There is space to think, feel and create.

"Ruth is a jack-of-all-trades. Whether it's organizing a meeting, guiding institutions,

Whether developing policies or streamlining a team, Ruth throws herself into it with dedication and determination.

Her understanding of people allows her to get people on board with her chosen course of action. She's also open to suggestions for adjusting that course where necessary. Through continuous (self-)reflection, Ruth is able to continuously improve processes and allow herself and those around her to learn from them. Ruth is a valuable addition to teams of independent professionals.
